Phat Pasty Co crowned winner at the Global Pasty Championships

We’re delighted to share some exciting news - Phat Pasty Co has won the ‘Cornish Pasty Company’ category at the inaugural Global Pasty Championships, with our Traditional Cornish Pasty taking the top honour.

The awards took place at the beautiful Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall on Saturday 28 February, just ahead of St Piran’s Day celebrations. Our Sales Director Matt Wells was there to collect the award for the team, joined by the legendary Mr & Mrs Pasty.

This latest win builds on our past success at the Cornish Pasty Association’s World Pasty Championships, where we were crowned World Champions in 2020/21 and again in 2022.

A proper Cornish pasty

Our award-winning Traditional Cornish Pasty is handmade in Cornwall using 100% British Red Tractor beef and produced to the Protected status standards of a true Cornish pasty.

We use a higher meat content than many pasties and stick closely to the traditional recipe and methods that have made the Cornish pasty famous around the world. For us, it’s always been about quality ingredients, great provenance and doing things properly.

Celebrating 20 years of Phat Pasty

This award makes the start of 2026 even more special, as we celebrate 20 years of Phat Pasty Co.

The business began around Paul and Laura’s kitchen table, with the original Phat Vans delivering pasties to local businesses. Since then, the company has grown into one of the UK’s leading foodservice pasty suppliers.

Today, our pasties can be found across the country in places including National Trust cafés, Welcome Break service stations, Red Funnel and P&O ferries, and theme parks such as Paultons Park / Peppa Pig World, as well as in schools, hospitals and independent cafés and restaurants.
