Our Charitable Impact

We’ve planted over 25,000 trees and support communities in Kenya!

Since 2019, we have supported an amazing charity that works with communities in Kenya, The Word Forest Organisation.

As their Corporate Partners, we have helped them to plant trees whilst supporting the communities. This means that we can reduce the carbon impact on our planet, all while helping villages in remote areas of Kenya to thrive.

To date, we’ve planted over 25,000 trees, supplied materials to build a classroom and supported the ‘Women of the Forest’ in creating a social and support group for the women in these remote villages.

In 2024, we visited Kenya, along with the Charity and a permaculture specialist. During the trip, we brought the villagers together and taught them methods of how best to plant and nurture the saplings. Providing fruit trees, the fruits are then sold in local markets, and the proceeds help the village to have a sustainable livelihood (before this, the main source of income was cutting trees and making charcoal).

Making a donation from every plant-based pasty, roll and pie that we sell, we continue to help offset our carbon footprint, whilst also having a positive impact in communities.

Since 2024, we have adopted Devon & Cornwall Food Action as a charity that’s closer to home. These guys do fabulous work providing food and support to families in the Devon and Cornwall areas. During Cornish Pasty Week, we donated for every Phat Cornish Pasty sold.

We actively reduce our food waste by sending our surplus and short-dated stock to Fareshare, who then redistribute surplus food to charities that turn it into meals. Helping us, helping others and helping the planet.

This year, we’re partnering with Cornwall & Devon Food Action for Cornish Pasty week by donating 5p from every pasty sold to support local communities.
